Arden Fisher of the
Robert Morris University volleyball team was named Molten/NEC Defensive Player of the Week, announced the league Monday afternoon.
The fourth-year outside hitter from Oakmont, Pa., averaged 6.54 digs per set, and helped the Colonials to their first victory of the season, a 3-2 win over The Citadel, as part of the 2016 Bulldog Battle. She recorded 33 digs in a four-set setback to Gardner Webb and matched her defensive output in the five-set win over the host Bulldogs.
Fisher wrapped up the weekend with 85 digs through three matches. The three-time All-NEC honoree, who was named to the Bulldog Battle All-Tournament Team, also tallied 10 blocks and posted three consecutive double-doubles to open the season.
Fisher and the Colonials open action in the Sewall Center this weekend when they host the Robert Morris Invitational on Friday, Sept. 2 and Saturday, Sept. 3.
