MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- While a new batch of stars on the Robert Morris volleyball team aim to make names for themselves, one of the most accomplished ones in recent history will ply her trade overseas.

Arden Fisher, from the RMU Class of 2017, has accepted an offer to play for Geneve Volley in Geneva Switzerland. The 5'10" Oakmont, Pa. native and former outside hitter will wear No. 9 for the club, according to Colonials assistant coach Danny Doherty.

Fisher became just the third Robert Morris player in program history to earn All-Northeast Conference honors all four years of her collegiate career. She was a second-team honoree her first three years before earning a first-team nod her senior season.

In addition, she became the first Colonial ever to record 1,000-plus career kills (1,246) and 1,500-plus career digs (1,852). Fisher's 598 digs in 2016 were the second-most in a single season at RMU. She also finished her career second in career digs and fifth in career kills, having led the Colonials to an NEC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2015 and appeared in all 120 sets of that championship campaign.

Already, Fisher has penned one of a number of local success stories the program has enjoyed as of late. The Riverview High School product and erstwhile team captain attracted Robert Morris's attention by being named to the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) All-Section Team, the All-WPIAL First Team and the All-Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) Team as a junior, then earning first team all-district and Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches' Association All-State Team honors as a senior.

Furthermore, Fisher has helped RMU enjoy a streak of 18 seasons in a row finishing with a winning record in NEC play. It is the longest such run of any NEC volleyball team, past or present.

Established in 1983, Geneve Volley, formerly known as Geneva Volleyball-Elite, competes in Ligue Nationale A, the top tier of Swiss professional volleyball. The team, which has featured a number of Olympic champions and other international volleyball stars since its inception, begins its annual quest for the Swiss Women's Volleyball Championship this weekend.
