BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- A memorable junior season for outside hitter Taylor Lord of the Robert Morris volleyball team ended with a selection to the 2017 All-Northeast Conference Tournament Team, the conference announced at the conclusion of the NEC Volleyball Tournament Saturday.

The former West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year completed her third collegiate campaign with a noble effort in defeat at LIU Brooklyn, which went on to defend its tournament title. Lord finished that match with nine kills and led RMU with 19 digs and a pair of solo blocks, accounting for 12.0 points on the day.

She was also one of four different Colonials with a service ace, and her .241 attack average was third-highest among all qualified participants.

This was not her first memorable performance against the Blackbirds in 2017, either. On Oct. 20 Lord became the 13th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career digs in a four-set triumph over LIU at the North Athletic Complex. She ends the year with 1,109 all-time.

In an earlier visit to the Steinberg Wellness Center Oct. 6, Lord set a new career high with 24.0 points against LIU. It was one of her better outings against any NEC opponent in 2017, as she rung up 20 kills and 22 digs.

The Musselman High School prodigy averaged 3.14 digs per set this season, putting her in the conference's top ten, and her 0.35 aces per set in conference play ranked fourth in the NEC.

Her success from the Robert Morris service rotation peaked with a personal-record five aces in a dramatic five-set victory over Saint Francis University at the NAC Nov. 3. That performance, which also included a season-high 24 digs, aided a season sweep of the in-state rival Red Flash, which also clinched a postseason berth for the Colonials.

Lord, one of the top two-way players on RMU's projected 2018 roster, finished her junior season with ten double-doubles, half of which were achieved in conference play.
