The Capsule
Robert Morris begins one of its longest road trips of the season, starting with a morning tip on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Northern Kentucky. This is one of two three-game road swings for the Colonials in 2017-18, with them playing the Norse, Cal Poly, and San Francisco during this stretch. RMU came back from a 30-11 second-quarter deficit to force overtime in its last game against Bowling Green, but the Falcons ultimately defeated the Colonials, 64-62.
NOTES: Robert Morris @ Northern Kentucky (11.21.17)
The Opponent
Like Robert Morris, Northern Kentucky is searching for its first victory of the season, owning an 0-3 mark with losses to Kent State, Illinois State, and Murray State. The Norse, who went 9-22 in 2016-17, has been led in the early going by redshirt sophomore guard Molly Glick and her 13.0 points per game. Freshman guard Samari Mowbray is right behind Glick at 12.0 points per game, converting at a 56 percent (14-25) rate from the field. First-year forward Kailey Coffey has been NKU's biggest threat in the frontcourt, with per-game averages of 8.0 points and 8.7 rebounds.

Megan Smith's game-high 19 points. Smith shot 7-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 on three-pointers, while also pulling down six rebounds and dishing out four assists.

Coach B Weekly
In the fourth episode of
Coach B Weekly, head coach
Charlie Buscaglia discusses what changed between the first and second halves of RMU's home opener against Bowling Green, the performances of seniors
Mikalah Mulrain and
Jocelynne Jones, the atmosphere of the North Athletic Complex, and the Colonials' upcoming road swing in Kentucky and California.
Last Time Out
Robert Morris made up a 19-point deficit to force overtime this past Thursday against Bowling Green, but the Colonials were edged by the Falcons, 64-62, in the program's first home game at the North Athletic Complex.
Mikalah Mulrain led RMU with 18 points on 6-of-7 shooting, while the Megan duo of Callahan and Smith added 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Â
Doing It With Defense
RMU held Bowling Green to just four points in the third quarter this past Thursday, coming a point shy of tying a school record in that department. The Colonials established that standard of three points on Jan. 9, 2017 when they limited LIU Brooklyn in the first quarter of a 83-42 victory.
Â
Take Care
Freshman point guard
Honoka Ikematsu recorded five assists and no turnovers in her first collegiate home contest. That feat was only accomplished once last season, by Janee Brown on Dec. 29, 2016 at Sacred Heart.
Â
Mikalah Makes Them All(most)
Senior center
Mikalah Mulrain has been efficient around the rim during her career, as her .515 field goal percentage ranks second all-time at RMU. Mulrain, who established a single-game record for field goal percentage last season, is shooting 88.9 percent (8-9 FG) from the floor in the early portion of 2017-18.
Â
Milestone Watch
Megan Smith,
Mikalah Mulrain, and
Jocelynne Jones are all on pace to join some exclusive clubs this season. Smith is close to eclipsing 1,000 career points, while Mulrain and Jones are inching closer to 500 rebounds and 100 steals, respectively. Below is a look at how close they are to reaching these marks:
Â
Smith: 903 points, 97 away from 1,000
Mulrain: 460 rebounds, 40 away from 500
Jones: 93 steals, 7 away from 100
Insurmountable Lead
Robert Morris has never lost a game in which it has held the lead at the end of the second half. The Colonials were 22-0 in such situations during the 2016-17 campaign. All-time, RMU is 573-0 when leading at the final whistle.
