Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University rowing team continued its spring campaign Saturday by taking part in the Kerr Cup in Philadelphia, Pa.
The RMU Varsity Eight finished fifth in its heat with a time of 7:57.43. Rookie
Kestra Harris was the coxswain, and the boat also consisted of senior
Taylor Childers, sophomore
Grace Faye, seniors
Katelyn Goodman and
Emily Engle-Young, juniors
Lindsay Feltz and
Melissa Asaro, senior
Tina Sahr and junior
Kate Cecchi.
The second Varsity 8 boat for the Colonials posted a time of 7:41.28 in its heat to claim fourth. In the petite final, Robert Morris earned bronze thanks to a time of 7:56.01.
Serving as the coxswain for the second Varsity 8 boat for RMU was sophomore
Sarah Heastings, and she was joined in the boat by sophomores

Hannah Daman, junior

"Considering the conditions that have kept us off of the water this month, we're pleased to see all four boats come away from the Kerr Cup feeling good about their races and excited for the potential they know is there," head coach
Nelle Stahura said. "We're looking forward to getting some solid water time over the next few weeks and can't wait to see what that does for our speed."

In Varsity 4 action, RMU posted a time of 9:04.16. Freshman
Brittany Bell was the coxswain, and the boat also consisted for freshman

Rebekah Landers, freshman
Kari Campbell and sophomore
Alyssa VanAuken.
The Robert Morris Novice 4 just missed the finals, claiming fourth in its heat with a time of 9:04.90. Harris again served as the coxswain and she was joined in the boat by freshmen

Alexandra Stangle,
Brianna Proctor and Cottrell.
RMU will have its final tuneup before the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships by taking part in the MACRA Championships in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sunday, April 30. The MAAC Championships follow for the Colonials Friday, May 12, in West Windsor, N.J.
