Moon Township, Pa. – A pair of
Robert Morris University women's hockey student-athletes were named to the 2020 Academic All-District 2 Hockey Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday, as forwards
Jaycee Gebhard and
Lexi Templeman earned the honor.
Gebhard and Templeman will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot for national recognition. Honorees will be announced in June. CoSIDA's District 2 includes student-athletes that play for institutions from the states of Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia as well as the District of Columbia.
Gebhard recently completed one of the most brilliant careers ever for a Colonial, leading College Hockey America in scoring for the second straight season and becoming the all-time leading scorer in RMU program history en-route to a First-Team All-CHA award in her senior year.
She graduated in May with a marketing degree as well as a 3.96 GPA, and recently signed a professional player contract with Brynas IF of the SDHL, the highest tier of professional women's hockey in Sweden.
Templeman, a rising senior, finished second on the Colonials in scoring with 41 points, including 32 points in 36 conference games. She ranked second in College Hockey America in assists per game at .80, and also finished near the top of the national rankings tied for tenth in the nation in assists per game at .88.
The 2020 Second Team All-CHA Honoree finished the year with a 4.00 GPA in accounting, and enters her senior season after helping to guide RMU to three consecutive apperance in the CHA Championship Game.
