Moon Township, Pa. – For the first time in two years, the RMU rowing team hosted the Yinzer Cup out of the McPhail Boathouse on Neville Island. The Colonials finished third in the regatta with 35 points.
TEAM CHAMPION
West Virginia claimed the Yinzer Cup Saturday with 38 points, two points ahead of Duquesne (36). Trailing the Colonials (35) were Canisius (28), a fellow Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opponent, and George Mason (28).
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Highlighting the home regatta for RMU was the Collegiate 4+, which finished second with a time of 9:49 to earn silver and trail only George Mason (9:38.8). The Roz had
Sebastiana Lopez serve as coxswain, and she was joined in the boat by

Christina Brunette and
Madyson Orlando.
QUOTABLE
"It was great to host the Yinzer Cup again this year and have the opportunity to compete against schools that make us faster," Woods said. "All of our boats went out and rowed strong races, which lifted our team to a third-place finish overall. I'm proud of our team and all the work we've done so far this season to make today successful."
UP NEXT
RMU concludes its 2021 fall season Saturday, Oct. 30, by traveling to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to take part in the Head of the Fish.
