PITTSBURGH, Pa.- Mike Zolnierczyk and Kelvin Ramirez of the Robert Morris men's soccer team were each honored by the Horizon League for their efforts in the classroom during the 2021 campaign with end of year academic awards, the league announced Tuesday. 

Zolnierczyk was named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team, while Ramirez earned an honorable mention in recognition of the pair's hard work and dedication academically and athletically for RMU.

A junior goalkeeper from Springdale, Pa, Zolnierczyk posted a 4.00 GPA in finance last semester while backstopping the Colonials in goal, making four starts and helping RMU to its first Horizon league win of the season against Northern Kentucky back on September 11.

Ramirez, meanwhile, is just one of two players to have started in all 15 games so far for Robert Morris while also posting a 4.00 GPA in psychology.

The sophomore defender has started in every game for RMU since his freshman year, and scored his first career goal earlier this season with the game-winner against UIC.

RMU closes out the regular season on Wednesday, November 3 at IUPUI.
