Chad Veltri was named AHA Goaltender of the Week, announced by the league office today, Monday afternoon.
Over the weekend, the Colonials returned to action for the 2023-24 season, playing a home-and-home series against Bowling Green to open the campaign.
Against the Falcons, Veltri only gave up two goals in two games and earned his first shutout of the season at Bowling Green in game two.
Across two games, he made 73 saves, including a 40 save performance in the home opener which is six away from his career-high.
The Pittsburgh talent posted a 1.00 Goals-Against-Average and owned a .973 save percentage.
His seventh career shutout in yesterday's victory helped RMU win their first game of the 2023-24 season.
Currently, Veltri leads the AHA conference in saves, save percentage and total shutouts.
Up next, the Colonials travel north to Erie, Pa., to take on Mercyhurst on Saturday, October 14 at 4:00 p.m.
