Chandler McCabe has announced the addition of five incoming freshmen in the class of 2025. London Creach, Dania McClain, Sanai Troutman, Layke Fields, and Markeli Jones-Tynes have all officially signed with the program and are eligible to play for the 2025-2026 season.
          Â
McCabe had this to say about the exciting incoming class, "As we graduate eight players, we knew we wanted to bring in some true freshmen that we could develop on and off the floor for four years. These five young ladies believe in the direction of this program and will make an immediate impact in Hoop Township." McCabe added, "Their love for the game and desire to learn and grow with the staff and I excites us as their potential is limitless. We know this class will make for an exciting product on the floor; one the entire greater area of Pittsburgh will want to rally behind and support for years to come!"
Starting out with London Creach who is a local product from Pittsburgh, Pa as she currently attends Oakland Catholic High School. Creech is a versatile player who classifies as a guard and has produced at a high clip throughout her career. She has averaged 13 points per game in high school but most notably has been recognized across the city as a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-WPIAL and Fab 5 player. Last season, Creach was also touted as the Trib HSSN 5A Player of the Year and apart of the PA Sports Writer 5A All-State 2
nd Team. McCabe said this about the incoming guard, "We are ecstatic about signing London to be a part of the Colonial family. London is one an extremely explosive and athletic scoring wing, and we know that will translate to Horizon League play immediately."
          Â
Next, is Dania McClain who comes to RMU from Harper Woods, Missouri as she currently attends South Lake High School. McClain is a 6'2 forward as last season she was named first-team All-County as well as first-team All-Defense en route to helping her squad win a district championship. McCabe had this to say about her future playmaker, "I've coached a number of extremely athletic players in the past, but none more than Dania. Her natural abilities mixed with her passion for the game and versatility on the floor will make Dania an important addition to our family for years to come."
Next up is Sanai Troutman who arrives to Moon Township from Frederick, Maryland as she currently attends the BULLIS School. Troutman is a guard who has been named an all-conference player twice and is on the verge of scoring her 1,000
th career point this season. McCabe released this statement about Sanai, "Sanai's ability to shoot the ball and defend any positon on the floor really drew us to her. She was a perfect fit for us on and off the floor and we are excited to get her to Moon Township."
          Â
Now, a Farrell Pa product who has had a highly successful high school career so far, Layke Fields. Fields is a 5'11 center who attends Kennedy Catholic where she has won back-to-back state championships and was a consecutive PA player of the year in her sophomore and junior seasons. As a junior she averaged 20.6 points, 12 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game and has scored over 1,000 points in her career so far. McCabe had this to say about Fields, "Layke's natural ability to rebound and score the ball will help us immediately at the post position. She's been one of the most successful players in the state the past few years and keeping local talent home was extremely important to us."
Â
Lastly, it's time to introduce Markeli Jones-Tynes who is a guard from Plantation, Florida. Markeli currently plays at Westminster Academy where she was named an All-County selection as well as being a two-time Fab 5 selection. Jones-Tynes averaged 16.9 points, eight rebounds, and three assists last season as she looks to bring that playmaking ability to Moon Township. Coach McCabe released this statement about Markeli, "We are through the roof that we were able to add Markeli to this incredibly talented signing class. She is a true point guard who can guard any position on the floor. Her ability to get to the rim, stop on a dime for a mid-range, and make plays for her teammates will make an immediate impact on our program."
