RMU alum begins pro career with HC Fribourg-Gottéron

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's hockey alum Shailynn Snow signed a professional contract with HC Fribourg-Gottéron in the Swiss Women's Hockey League (SWHL).

"I'm very excited to start my professional career with Fribourg," said Snow. "I'm looking forward to traveling the world and seeing the different cultures while playing my best hockey with a great team."

Snow, who graduated from RMU this May, finished the 2023-24 season with 14 goals, 12 assists and 26 points over 33 games. Her six power play goals ranked first on the team.

"My one year at RMU was so special," stated Snow. "It helped shape my path towards professional hockey. I credit RMU for helping me become the player I am today, teaching me the skills I have learned both on and off the ice. The program holds a special place in my heart. The team has so much potential in the near future."

Prior to RMU, she played four seasons at St. Lawrence University. Over her career, she appeared in 150 games, posting 37 goals, 64 assists and 101 points.

Before college, Snow played for Canada's gold-medal-winning team at the IIHF U18 Women's World Championships in 2019.

Since 2005, the program has developed 27 student-athletes to play professionally.
