MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team will close out its three-game Horizon League homestand when it hosts Detroit Mercy on Thursday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the North Athletic Complex. The match will stream live on ESPN+ with Spencer Witt and Joey Jirmasek on the call.
RMU LATELY
RMU (2-5-2, 0-1-1 #HLWSOC) is coming off a 2-2 draw with Green Bay on Sunday afternoon. The Colonials jumped out to a two-goal lead inside the opening 22 minutes, with
Paloma Swankler scoring the opener off a feed from
Jillian Marvin before
Ava Trethewey converted her second penalty kick of the season. Goalkeeper
Emma Cameron recorded one save in the result.
Through nine games this season, Swankler and Trethewey share the team lead in both goals (2) and points (5). Sophomore forward
Madison Hurst has also found the net twice, while Marvin paces the Colonials with three assists. Defensively, senior captain
Emerson Johngarlo has been ever-present, playing all 810 minutes so far. In net, Cameron has started seven contests, collecting two victories, two shutouts, and 23 total saves.
ALL-TIME VS. DETROIT MERCY
Thursday's matchup marks the sixth all-time meeting between RMU and Detroit Mercy since the Colonials entered the Horizon League in 2020, and the third time the Titans will visit Moon Township.
The Titans claimed last year's meeting in Detroit, 2-1, but RMU had won the previous two encounters by identical 2-1 scorelines. Current Colonials

Shauna Gamble both factored into the scoring during those victories, with Day recording a goal and Gamble registering an assist.
SCOUTING THE TITANS
UDM (2-7-1, 0-1-1 #HLWSOC) enters Thursday with the same conference record as RMU, having tied Cleveland State, 3-3, before falling 1-0 to Wright State.
The Titans are led by senior midfielder Abbey Lodato, who tops the Horizon League in both goals (7) and points (17). She also shares the team lead in assists (3) with senior Soraya Puerto-Khalil and leads the squad in minutes played (797). In goal, senior Eva Hill has appeared in seven matches with 31 saves, while graduate goalkeeper Chantelle Symes owns two wins, one shutout, and 15 stops.
Last season, Detroit Mercy advanced to the Horizon League semifinals as the No. 3 seed. The Titans defeated Purdue Fort Wayne, 2-1, in the quarterfinals before falling 1-0 to Northern Kentucky.

The Colonials will head on the road for their first Horizon League away match when they travel to Northern Kentucky on Saturday, October 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Highland Heights, Ky.
