MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Following her recent conference recognition, Robert Morris women's hockey redshirt junior goaltender
Maggie Hatch earned national acclaim for her stellar play in December, as the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) named her the Co-Goalie of the Month.
Hatch backstopped the Colonials to an undefeated month, helping RMU post a 3-0-1 record against Syracuse and LIU. She started all four contests, recording three shutouts and stopping 134 shots over the stretch.
During December, Hatch posted a remarkable .985 save percentage while allowing just two goals, finishing the month with a 0.49 goals-against average. Her consistent play in net anchored the Colonials defensively and proved pivotal in securing points in each outing.
On the season, Hatch now owns five shutouts, tied for the third-most nationally, while her .933 save percentage ranks tied for 10th in the NCAA. She has accumulated eight career shutouts, which stands second all-time in RMU program history.
The honor marks Hatch's first monthly award from the HCA. In her first two collegiate seasons, she was named to the HCA Goaltender of the Year Watch List, signaling her continued rise among the nation's top netminders.
This is RMU's first monthly honor from the HCA since captain
Alaina Giampietro was named Rookie of the Month during the 2023-24 season.
Up next, the Colonials return to Atlantic Hockey America action as they host Syracuse for a two-game series at Clearview Arena. Puck drop for game one is set for Friday, January 9 at 7:00 PM, followed by the series finale on Saturday, January 10 at 3:00 PM. Both games will stream live on SportsNet Pittsburgh+ and FloHockey.
