MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Horizon League announced on Wednesday that Robert Morris University guard Ryan Prather Jr. has been selected to the 2025-26 Valeo Men's Basketball All-Academic Team. The award recognizes student-athletes who meet rigorous standards for both cumulative grade point average and on-court performance.
 
Prather Jr. holds a 3.66 cumulative GPA as a Marketing major within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program. He is currently completing additional certificates in Sales, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. His academic record includes three consecutive appearances on the Dean's List, covering the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Fall 2025 semesters. In addition to his studies, he represents his peers as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
 
On the court, Prather Jr. leads the Horizon League and ranks third nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio at 4.4. He currently ranks ninth in the conference in scoring with 15.3 points per game and is third in the league in total playing time with 981 minutes. His 71 3-pointers made this season rank fifth among all Horizon League players.
 
The All-Academic Team is voted on by faculty athletics representatives from the league's member institutions. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.30 GPA and complete at least one year of residency at their current school.
 
RMU (19-10, 11-7 HL) faces Detroit Mercy (13-13, 11-7 HL) tonight at the UPMC Events Center at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh and streamed on ESPN+.
