MORGANTOWN/CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Colonials saw success over the weekend at the Virginia Challenge and the Mountaineer Showcase, bringing home five first-place finishes in Morgantown, and a personal best in Charlottesville
MOUNTAINEER SHOWCASE
The Colonials had an impressive showing at the Mountaineer Showcase, bringing home five first-place finishes on the afternoon.
On the track, the Colonials secured two first-place finishes, one in the 100m hurdles and another in the 400m dash.
Penelope Mobley took home first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.32, which now ranks fourth best in school history, while
Erin Zephirin claimed gold in the 400m with a time of 58.40.
In field events, the Colonials brought home three first-place finishes on the afternoon. In the javelin,
Eden Rush secured a first-place finish with a throw of 37.60m, while
Maizee Fry took home first place in the shot put with a distance of 12.41m. In jumping events, Maryia Chamberlain took the top placement in the triple jump with a distance of 11.69m.

VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
At the Virginia Challenge, the Colonials had just two runners competing on the evening, with
Erin LaQuatra racing in the 3000m steeple while
Julia Dill raced in the 5000m invite.
In the 3000m steeple, LaQuatra secured a top-10 finish with a time of 10:47.33 while
Julia Dill recorded a personal best 16:41.39 to place 12
th in her section in the 5000m. Dill remains ranked second all-time in the 5000m in colonial history.
UP NEXT
Following this weekend of action, the Colonials will return home to the P3R Track & Field Complex as RMU is set to host the Benson Hodge Memorial Invitational on April 25. This will be the Colonials' lone home meet of the season before RMU heads to the Horizon League Outdoor Championships in Rochester, Michigan, beginning on May 8.
