Named the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for March 15, 2017, is senior guard Anna Niki Stamolamprou of the basketball team. In earning her fifth honor of the 2016-17 campaign, Stamolamprou was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2017 Northeast Conference Tournament after helping the Colonials to back-to-back championships as well as their third title in the last four years. In the championship game at the last game to ever be played at the Charles L. Sewall Center, a 65-52 victory over Bryant (3/12/17), Stamolamprou led the way with 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals. In three games of the 2017 NEC Tournament, Stamolamprou produced averages of 17.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. Overall this season, Stamolamprou paces the Colonials in scoring with an average of 16.9 points per game.
