A new month brings a new year of Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Student-Athlete of the Week accolades, and earning one of the first honors of the 2021-22 season is redshirt junior Kaoru Hayashi of the soccer squad. Hayashi, a native of Ama, Japan, helped the Colonials pick up their first win of the 2021 season by scoring the game-winning goal at 94:09 in a 2-1 road triumph over Mount St. Mary’s (8/21). She scored with a sharp-angle shot from the box that hit the crossbar and into the goal for the game-winning mark. Hayashi also provided an assist of the first goal of the contest, feeding freshman Emily Rocco, who notched her first NCAA tally. Hayashi is a psychology major at RMU who has compiled a grade point average (GPA) of 3.92.
