Named the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 1, 2021, is senior guard Esther Castedo of the women’s basketball squad. In a 57-43 victory @ Canisius (11/27/21) that evened RMU’s overall record during the 2021-22 season to 3-3 (.500), Castedo paced the Colonials with 17 points while also grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists. She logged 36 minutes in the win over the Golden Griffins, converting seven of her 13 attempts from the field, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, while knocking down her sole attempt at the charity stripe. Castedo, a native of Lugo, Spain, and a management major who owns a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.83, has started each of RMU’s six games in 2021-22 and leads the Colonials with an 11.7 points per game scoring average. She also owns an average of 3.8 caroms per contest and leads RMU in steals (7) while ranking second in assists (15).
