Sophomore infielder Alaina Koutsogiani of the softball team has been tabbed the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for May 10, 2023. She shares the honor with fifth-year teammate Dana Vatakis. In a three-game road sweep of Cleveland State last weekend to conclude the 203 regular season, Koustogiani drew four of RMU’s 15 walks during the series in extending her streak for safely reaching base to 11 games. In the series opener, however, is where Koutsogiani made history. In the top of the first she stole second, breaking the RMU career record for stolen bases. Koutsogiani, a native of Peters Township, Pa., owns 60 career thefts in 97 games since the beginning of the 2022 season, breaking the previous career standard of 58 held by Kelli Miller (1990-93).
