Lewisburg, Pa. - The Robert Morris University women's soccer team continued their season-long struggles in road games falling 4-1 at Bucknell on Sunday afternoon. The Colonials are 0-4 on the road and 2-0 at home while carrying a 2-4-0 overall record this season. Bucknell improves to 3-3-1 with the victory.
The Bison took control in the 17th minute when Jennifer Dervarics scored her fourth of the season on a cross from Kelly Boswell. Boswell then capitalized herself in the 30th minute, getting set free on a ball by Leslie Schulze.
Bucknell held an 11-3 advantage in shots at the half and continued building its lead in the second half. Krista Lee Gentile scored the first of her two goals in the game in the 47th minute as she pounced on the rebound of a shot by Boswell. Gentile scored again, her third of the year, in the 53rd minute on a hard shot from the top of the box.
Robert Morris freshman Daneen Stevenato (North York, Ontario / Newtonbrook) ended the shutout in the 70th minute, putting away a rebound from a shot by senior Danielle Pasquarelli (North Huntingdon, Pa. / Norwin).
The Bison held a 19-9 advantage in shots as Katie Dry made five saves and allowed one goal for the hosts. Junior goaltender Jessica Onufer (Butler, Pa. / Butler) took the loss, allowing four goals while making seven saves in 59:13 of work. Junior Elizabeth Moss (Claysville, Pa. / McGuffey) finished the game in net stopping four shots.
Robert Morris returns to play Friday, September 22, when it travels to Howard for a 7:00 p.m. game.
