Winston-Salem, NC - Over the past weekend, the Robert Morris University men's track and field team opened the 2010 outdoor season as they traveled south to take part in the Wake Forest Open at Kenter Stadium. The team placed well as a whole, and also had several notable finishes.
Leading the way in the high jump, senior Jordan Dyson (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) took the tenth spot with a jump of 1.87 meters.
Junior Chris Spataro (Gibsonia, Pa. / Pine Richland) finished in 10th place in the pole vault with his height of 4.55 meters. Anthony Trunzo (Trafford, Pa. / Penn-Trafford) tallied 15th place in the event as he came in with a mark of 4.40 meters.
Veteran Michael Bowman (Berlin, Pa. / Berlin Brothers) took ninth in the hammer throw with his performance of 43.76 meters.
Freshman Collin Ray (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) had a good first outdoor showing as he took13th in the shot put and 14th in discus.
The team will next compete Saturday, March 27 at the Western Pa. Intercollegiate Championships in California, Pa.
