Moon Township, Pa. - For the second year in a row, Robert
Morris University Athletics and Clearview Federal Credit Union are pleased to partner
with each other on the “Clearview Quarterback Challenge,” which will once again
be part of the halftime festivities of Colonial football games during the 2012
season on all five home dates.
Clearview is a Platinum Sponsor of RMU Athletics. Its branding is located around several of the
University's sporting venues including on all game tickets and also on the
scoreboard at Joe Walton Stadium.
In the challenge, one contestant per game is given
a chance to win $25, $50 or $500. In
order to win the $500, the contestant must successfully throw three footballs
into a net from various yardages. Players start out with an attempt from 10
yards; if they successfully throw the football into the net, they can receive a
$25 Visa gift card. That player then has the opportunity to risk that $25 and
win a $50 Visa gift card with a completed throw from 15 yards. Finally, if successful on the first two
throws, the player can risk all their winnings for a chance to win a $500 Visa
gift card, a prize which requires the completion of a 25-yard pass.
Contestants must be a legal resident of the United
States, 18 years of age or older and cannot be an NCAA or NAIA student-athlete.
Last year, there was one $500 grand-prize winner for the Quarterback Challenge,
RMU student Dan Nethers. Multiple contestants achieved the smaller prizes of
$25 and $50 in their quest to the $500 grand prize. Fans can enter the contest
on the Joe Walton Stadium Plaza prior to the game at the Clearview table where
the remainder of the official rules can be found. The entire listing of the
official rules for the contest also can be found at www.clearviewfcu.org.
Later this school year, for the second consecutive
season, RMU and Clearview will also partner on the “Clearview Empty Net
Challenge” at Colonial home hockey games as well as the “Clearview Hoop Shoot
Challenge” at Robert Morris home basketball games. Stay tuned for details on
those contests!
