The Capsule

The Robert Morris University women's basketball team returns to the Charles L. Sewall Center following a three-game road swing when they host the Wagner Seahawks in a 4:00 p.m. game this afternoon. The Colonials split a pair of games in Brooklyn last week, upending LIU Brooklyn before stumbling in double-overtime at St. Francis Brooklyn.

Robert Morris is 24-29 all-time against Wagner. The Colonials have won 15 consecutive match-ups in this series. RMU has not lost to Wagner since a 51-56 setback on Feb. 7, 2004. The Colonials are 11-13 at home against the Seahawks.

Ravelli Earns NEC Rookie of the Week

Ravelli provided scoring and endurance during Robert Morris' two-game stay in Brooklyn, which ended with a double-overtime affair Monday night. Playing 88 of a possible 90 minutes for the injury-ravaged Colonials, the rookie guard averaged 15.0 points per game against the NEC's Brooklyn-based contingent. She shot 43 percent from downtown, sinking three three-pointers in each of the two contests.

Freshmen Heroics

A freshman has hit the gamewinning shot in each of the Colonials last two victories. Saturday at LIU Brooklyn, Ashley Ravelli hit a three-pointer with 55.6 seconds left to break open a 41-41 tie. Last Saturday at home against Mount St. Mary's, Lou Mataly scored the game-winning bucket with 1.9 seconds left to snap a 59-59 deadlock.

Greek Goddess of Double-Doubles

Junior forward Artemis Spanou is the all-time leader in double-doubles at Robert Morris, passing RMU Hall of Famer Elise James. James, who played from 1996 to 2000, is the program's top rebounder and second-leading scorer who accumulated 45 double-doubles. Spanou has 50 double-doubles after recording one in each of the last 16 games.
