Moon Township, Pa. – Isabella Posset, a freshman guard on the Robert Morris University women's basketball team, has been named Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league this Monday afternoon.
Making her first career start this past Saturday against Pitt-Johnstown, Posset scored a career-best 16 points in a team-high 29 minutes. She converted 5-of-8 attempts from the field and 4-of-7 from three-point range, while adding three rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal to round out her performance.
This is Posset's second straight double-digit scoring effort and fourth of the season, previously reaching the mark against La Salle (12), SMU (10), and Kent State (12). The Beaver, Pa. product is tied for the team lead in assists with 23, while ranking second in both steals (14) and blocked shots (5).
Posset is the 13th Colonial in program history to earn Rookie of the Week honors from the conference.
Robert Morris is back in action tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. against Delaware State. The Colonials will be hosting Career & Education Day at the North Athletic Complex, as students from seven different Pittsburgh-area elementary and middle schools will be attending the game.
