PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Robert Morris University graduate attack Mackenzie Gandy was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Week following her performance against Akron, the conference announced Wednesday. 

It is the first OPOW win for Gandy this season and the second week in a row the award has been won by a Colonial after Melanie Gandy took home the honor last week following RMU's win over Kent State.  

The Baltimore native tied for the team lead in goals Saturday in RMU's 18-4 win over Akron, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist as the Colonials moved to 6-0 in conference play this season.  

Gandy  was integral in kickstarting RMU's 11-0 run in the first half, assisting on twin sister Melanie's opening goal 2:24 into the game before scoring her first of the day just 1:19 later to make it 3-0 Colonials less than five minutes in.  She finished the afternoon with four points on five total shots on goal. 

RMU returns to action this Saturday, April 24 when they host Central Michigan at noon for Super Senior Day.
