  • The Robert Morris women's basketball team begins a two-game road slate when it travels to Cleveland State on Thursday morning in the Horizon League action.

  • Against the Norse, sophomore Simone Morris led the Colonials with 13 points, while grabbing seven rebounds, which led the team for the fourth time this campaign. She also recorded two blocks and two steals.
  • Classmate Phoenix Gedeon chipped in nine points and five boards and junior Mackenzie Amalia carded eight points, three rebounds, and two assists. Freshman Natalie Johnson registered seven points off the bench, all in the third quarter.
  • On Saturday against the Raiders, Morris recorded his first career double-double, finishing with 14 points and 10 caroms. Sophomore center Danielle Vuletich boasted 14 points and eight boards off the bench, while Alejandra Mastral carded eight points and a career high six rebounds.
  • Mastral and freshman guard Louella Allana paced the team with three assists a piece and Morris collected two blocks for the second consecutive game.
  • Robert Morris plays back-to-back road games this week before returning to the UPMC Events Center for four straight home contests.

The All-Time Series (Cleveland State) – It'll be the 10th all-time meeting between the Colonials and Vikings come Thursday morning. RMU holds a 5-4 record in the series, winning three of the last five meetings. The two teams met earlier this season with Cleveland State capturing a 70-52 victory on New years Eve. Morris paced the Colonials with 15 points and nine rebounds, while carding a block and a steal. Gedeon finished with 14 points and eight boards, while Vuletich registered six points, eight caroms, three assists, and a block off the bench. The Colonials grabbed 20 offensive rebounds, caused 18 turnovers, and collected seven steals in the loss.

Scouting The Vikings – Cleveland State currently sits tied for the top spot in the Horizon League with a 19-3 overall record behind a 10-2 mark in conference play. The Vikings ended a four-game road slate, capturing a 107-65 win at Detroit Mercy on Thursday (1/26) before taking down Oakland, 72-51 on Saturday (1/28). Against the Titans, five Vikings finished in double-figures, led by Destiny Leo with 31. Amele Ngwafang added 16, Brittni Moore and Gabriella Smith both added 11 points, and Jordana Reisma chipped in 10. As a team, the Vikings shot 61-percent from the floor, including a .538 clip from behind the arc.

Cleveland State paces the Horizon league in multiple statistical categories. The Vikings are averaging 76.8 points per game and averaging an 18.0 margin per game this season. They're shooting 35.4 percent from behind the arc while leading the conference with 41.2 rebounds per contest. Destiny Leo ranks first in the league with 17.6 points per game, while shooting 45.0 percent from the floor. She shoots 94.1 percent from the charity strip and 39.4 from behind the arc, both pacing the Horizon League. Brittni Moore sits second on the team with 12.3 points per contest, while recording 5.3 caroms and 1.4 steals a game.

Consistency Is Key – Through 12 Horizon League contests, sophomore Danielle Vuletich is shooting 45.8 percent (33-of-68) from the floor. Over the last five games, she has converted 13-of-25 (52.0 percent) from the field and has averaged five rebounds per contest off the bench. The Ohio native is shooting 51.2 percent (63-of-123) from the field this season and sits second on the team with 7.8 points per game. Vuletich has scored in double-figures seven times this season, coming off a 14-point performance against Wright State. She finished 5-of-7 from the field and two-of-three from behind the arc, while collecting eight caroms.
