Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU men's lacrosse program released its schedule for the 2024 season, announced today.
This will officially be the 20
th year of men's lacrosse at RMU, as the program's inaugural season started back in 2004.
Beginning the campaign at the end of January, the Colonials will start off the season with two exhibition matches, hosting Seton Hill (2/1) and then facing the University of Michigan (2/3) on the road.
Following the preseason portion of the schedule, RMU will play five non-conference games before ASUN action begins.
They'll travel to North Bethesda, Md. at Georgetown Prep to take on the University of Richmond (2/10) to begin the regular season. The Colonials will then play St. Bonaventure (2/20) also on the road.
RMU's home opener will be on February 24 as the Colonials will welcome the Golden Griffins at Joe Walton Stadium.
Following the home opener, the squad will play two more non-conference opponents on the road, visiting Hobart (3/2) and the University of Virginia (3/5).
ASUN play will begin on March 16 for RMU, as the Colonials will travel down south to Jacksonville, Fla., to play the Dolphins. This past season when RMU hosted the ASUN tournament, the Colonials beat the Dolphins 9-8 in the quarterfinal round of the tournament to advance to the semifinals.
The Colonials first conference home game will occur on March 20, hosting Detroit Mercy.
Continuing on through the conference portion of the schedule, the Colonials will play at Cleveland State (3/23), host Mercer (3/30), visit Utah (4/5) and Bellarmine (4/10). RMU returns home to host Queens University of Charlotte (4/13) and then head to Lindenwood (4/20) for their last conference game on the road.
RMU's final conference game and Senior Day will be played at the Joe Walton Stadium on April 27 as the Colonials host Air Force.
For the 2024 playoffs, the top six teams will qualify for the ASUN tournament. 2024's playoff tournament will be hosted by Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo. Dates set for the ASUN Playoff Tournament are listed below:

The winner of the ASUN Playoff Tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Colonials did so in their first season as a member of the ASUN conference back in 2022, as they beat Utah in the championship game in overtime, 18-17. RMU then went on to play Delaware in the first round of the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
