MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU volleyball team is back in action at the UPMC Events Center this weekend as the Colonials gear up for a two-game series against Green Bay to close out the regular season. Friday's game will begin at 4:00 p.m., and Saturday's first serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. On Saturday, RMU volleyball will honor its three seniors,
Madison Floyd,
Hillarie Adams, and
Kaitlyn Brown, before first serve.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (9-18, 5-11 HL) return to the UPMC Events Center following a pair of losses on the road at Milwaukee last weekend. In Friday's matchup, RMU and Milwaukee battled in a five-set thriller, which saw Milwaukee take the deciding fifth set 17-15. On Saturday, the Panthers got the 3-0 win over RMU to take the series.
During Friday's matchup, senior
Kaitlyn Brown had a career-high 65 assists to eclipse over 2,000 career assists. As a team, RMU hit .174 on the weekend, averaging 13.0 assists per set and 13.75 kills per set.
GREEN BAY LATELY
Green Bay will travel to Moon Township sporting a 9-18 overall record and an 8-8 Horizon League record. The Phoenix split their weekend series with IU Indy, losing on Friday 3-1 before pulling off a 3-2 win over the Jaguars on Saturday afternoon. In the win over IU Indy, Green Bay got the reverse sweep, hitting .192 in the match. Katie Schulz and Gillian Koning each had 15 kills for the Phoenix, while Emma Johnson had 43 assists.
THE SERIES
RMU and Green Bay have matched up 10 times dating back to 2007, with Green Bay winning the series 9-1. The pair last met back on Nov. 16, 2024, with Green Bay getting the 3-1 win at home. In the last meeting,
Jocelyn Jourdan led RMU with 13 kills with
Hillarie Adams and
Natalie Stepanovich each having nine kills. Arza Eric recorded a team-high six blocks in the net for the Colonials. RMU hit .151 while the Phoenix hit .246.
