MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. –
Jayson Jenkins has been named NEC Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced today.
Jenkins booted a career-best 46-yard field goal and averaged 42.2 yards per punt at Youngstown State in RMU's Week 2 game at Youngstown State.
This marks Jenkins' second-straight NEC honor. He becomes the first Colonial to win back-to-back NEC Special Teams Player of the Week awards since Connor Shennan in 2015.
RMU (0-2) hosts West Liberty (0-2) in its home opener on September 13. Kickoff is at 6 p.m. at Joe Walton Stadium.
