Selected as the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 4, 2017, is senior defenseman Rob Mann of the hockey team. In helping the Colonials defend their title in the Three Rivers Classic as well as claim its third Confluence Cup overall, Mann finished with a goal and assist in a 5-2 victory over Quinnipiac (12/30/16) to help Robert Morris win the tournament. His goal at 19:14 of the second period helped the Colonials grab a 2-1 lead over the Bobcats, and his helper on Timmy Moore’s goal at 8:03 of the third period helped RMU extend its lead to 4-1. In 20 games in 2016-17, Mann, a native of Oshawa, Ontario, has supplied the Colonials with a pair of goals and five assists for seven points.Â
