Volleyball Falls to Seton Hall in Non-Conference Finale

South Orange, N.J. - The Robert Morris University volleyball team lost its final non-conference match of the season when they traveled to Seton Hall (13-9), 3-1 (30-23, 30-13, 22-30, 30-28). The loss drops the Colonials to 10-12 on the season.

The Colonial offense was led by junior middle blocker / outside hitter Emily Wolthuis (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian) and junior outside hitter Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key), who each finished with 14 kills. Wolthuis also tallied seven digs, one block assist and one service ace, while Stambaugh added three digs and two block assists. Junior middle blocker Haley Schroeder (Kenmore, N.Y. / Kenmore West) tallied nine total blocks and eight kills, while senior middle blocker Janette Schneider Leetsdale, Pa. / Quaker Valley) chipped in nine kills, two digs and two total blocks.

Sophomore Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) tallied a match high 18 digs, along with three assists. Junior setter Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) recorded 42 assists, seven digs, three block assists and two kills.

The Colonials open Northeast Conference action, Sunday, October 15 when they travel to Sacred Heart. The match will start at 1:00 p.m.
