DiCiocco Collects CHA Goalie of the Week Honors

Moon Township, Pa. - Sophomore Kristen DiCiocco (Niagara Falls, Ontario / Stoney Creek Jr. Sabres) of the Robert Morris University women's hockey team was recognized for her recent strong play as she was named the College Hockey America (CHA) Goaltender of the Week in a league release Monday afternoon.

It is the first weekly award for DiCiocco and the fourth occurrence since the beginning of the 2009-10 season in which a Colonial goalie received a league award as Daneca Butterfield (Kronau, Saskatchewan / Notre Dame Hounds) was honored in three different weeks last season.

DiCiocco helped lead Robert Morris to an unbeaten weekend as it posted a win and a tie at Minnesota State. She allowed only three goals while playing all 125 minutes in net and posted a 1.44 goals against average. DiCiocco made 48 saves against the Mavericks to record a .941 save percentage for the weekend.

DiCiocco also held the Minnesota State power play without a goal in six opportunities. She helped preserve a tie and force overtime Saturday by tallying six saves during two Maverick third-period power plays when Minnesota State had opportunities to take the lead. She currently ranks third in the conference with 248 saves.

DiCiocco joins a pair of freshman teammates, Kylie St. Louis (Windsor, Ontario / Southwest Wildcats) and Thea Imbrogno (Etobicoke, Ontario / Mississauga Jr. Chiefs), that have earned weekly awards from the CHA this season.

Imbrogno was honored after posting four points in the season's first weekend (Oct. 4) and received a second award after registering a multi-point game in the Colonials' CHA home opener (Nov. 15). St. Louis, a defenseman, was selected for scoring her first career goal against No. 1 Wisconsin as she became just the fourth freshman up to that point to light the lamp against the Badgers this season (Nov. 22).

Robert Morris continues its program-record eight-game road trip this weekend as it resumes CHA play with a pair of games at Niagara, Dec. 10-11.
