Pittsburgh, Pa. - At every
Robert Morris University home hockey game, fans are presented with the opportunity to sign up for the Clearview Federal Credit Union Skill Shot Challenge, a contest that takes place during the first intermission that will give one lucky fan the chance to win $500. On October 28
th, Chris Sarni, a RMU student and native of Perrysburg, Ohio, decided he was going to sign up. Halfway through the first period, his name was announced over the PA system and during the first intermission, he had his shot.
His first shot from the offensive zone faceoff dot sailed right on in and electing to risk the $25 he just won, he walked to the neutral zone faceoff dot to take his second shot, easily putting the puck into the open net. With a guaranteed $50 in his pocket, he chose to put it on the line for $500. With the crowd on his side, he stood at center ice, while the board bearing Clearview's name covered the net. Lining up his shot, Sarni sent the puck towards the net. As the puck slide through the slot in the board, Sarni found himself the winner of $500, courtesy of Clearview Federal Credit Union.
The Colonials women, who were tied during the first intermission, went on to a 2-1 victory over the Mercyhurst Lakers.
