Jessica Dodds of the
Robert Morris University women's hockey team was named College Hockey America (CHA) Goalie of the Week, announced the league Monday afternoon. This is Dodds' second weekly conference honor of the season and 11
th of her career.
Dodds recorded her fifth shutout of the season in a 1-1-0 weekend for Robert Morris. Her shutout victory over RIT on Friday secured home ice in the first round of the CHA Tournament.
The London, Ontario, native was 34 seconds shy of a tie in Game 2 of the final series of the regular season, but a late RIT goal earned the Tigers a win. Dodds stopped a total of 39 shots and allowed three goals in nearly 125 minutes on the weekend.
Dodds leads RMU in individual career shutouts with 11, including five this season, two of which she recorded against RIT.
The Colonials return to 84 Lumber Arena this weekend to host No. five seed Lindenwood in the first round of the CHA Tournament. The best of three series is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. if necessary.
