Howard and Gebhard Ring in 2017 with CHA Honors

The two talented forwards are tied for the team lead in goals

Winthrop, Mass. – Redshirt junior forward Brittany Howard and freshman forward Jaycee Gebhard of the No. 9 Robert Morris University women's hockey team were named College Hockey America (CHA) Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, announced the league Monday afternoon.

This week's honors mark Howard's eighth career CHA Player of the Week nod, her fifth this season, and 12th overall weekly honor from the conference, and the fourth overall for Gebhard.

Howard recorded six points in two wins this weekend to help No. 9 Robert Morris (14-1-5) cap 2016 with a sweep of Brown. She posted her second career hat trick in a 5-1 win over the Bears on Friday, then added a goal and two assists in Saturday's 5-3 victory. Howard is currently riding a 10-game point streak, and leads the Colonials in goals (13), assists (22) and points (35).

Gebhard racked up four points in two games, as she dished two assists on Friday evening, and scored a goal and tabbed an assist in Saturday's non-conference finale. Gebhard has notched a point in six of the last seven games, including multi-point efforts in four of her last five. She is tied with Howard for the team lead in goal scoring.

Robert Morris has a break from action before they continue a four-game home stand and host Lindenwood on Friday, Jan. 13 at 7:05 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 14 at 3:05 p.m.
