BOSTON, Mass. – For the month of February,
Alaina Giampietro was named Rookie of the Month and
Chloé Puddifant was tabbed Defenseman of the Month. It was announced by the league office, Wednesday afternoon.
This is Giampietro's second monthly honor as she was named Rookie of the Month back in October. She was also tabbed Rookie of the Week four times throughout the 2023-24 campaign.
Playing in nine games through the month of February, Giampietro produced eight goals and three assists, averaging over a point per game. This included three multipoint performances. She registered two goals and two assists in the CHA Semifinal series in Mercyhurst.
From Strongsville, Ohio, she finished the season as the team leader in goals and points (19-12—31). Nationally, among freshmen in the NCAA, she's tied first in goals (19), tied first in game-winning tallies (4) and ranked fourth in points (31).
Defensively,
Chloé Puddifant earned Defenseman of the Month honors for a second time. She was also named Defenseman of the Week once during the 2023-24 season.
Across her nine appearances in the month of February, she dished out eight assists, including three helpers in a 7-5 win at Lindenwood (2/16).
In the CHA Semifinal series, she handed out two assists over the weekend at Mercyhurst. In game three of the series, Puddifant dressed for her 150
th career game.
Over the year, Puddifant led all players on RMU in assists and owned the most points among blue liners (1-21—22). Across the CHA conference, she finished fourth in assists (21) and ranked seventh in blocked shots (55).

RMU wrapped up the 2023-24 campaign with a 15-19-1 overall record and were 11-8-1 in conference action.
