Selected as the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 24, 2018, is freshman defenseman Emily Curlett of the hockey squad. In a road sweep of RIT, Curlett, a native of Lapeer, Mich., finished with five points (two goals, three assists), blocked five shots and posted a +4 rating. In a 12-1 victory to open the series Jan. 19, Curlett scored a goal and assisted on three others. The next afternoon, Curlett lit the lamp again in a 4-3 win. Her goal at the 6:09 mark of the second period sparked a comeback, as the Colonials were down 3-1 in the contest at the time. In 23 games for Robert Morris in 2017-18, Curlett owns seven goals and nine helpers for 16 points.
