Tabbed one of two Peoples Natural Gas RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honorees for Jan. 2, 2019, is senior forward Alex Tonge of the hockey team. In a road split with American International last weekend that wrapped up 2018, Tonge helped Robert Morris garner the split by scoring a pair of goals in a 3-1 victory in the second game of the series. He scored at the 9:32 mark of the second period to help tie the contest, 1-1, and his second tally of the contest came just eight seconds into the third period and proved to the game-winning goal. He also tied for team-high honors on the afternoon by finishing the game +3. In 17 games, Tonge, a native of Kingston, Ontario, has provided the Colonials with a team-high 18 points thanks to nine goals and nine assists.
