Taking home the first Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete accolade of his career for Feb. 19, 2014, is sophomore Stephan Hawkins of the basketball team. A native of Gary, Ind., Hawkins averaged 9.0 points and 5.5 rebounds last week while shooting 64.3 percent (9-for-14) from the field in helping the Colonials extend their winning streak to four games. In a 66-60 win @ Saint Francis U. (2/13/14), Hawkins supplied RMU with eight points, six rebounds and an assist. Two days later he reached double figures for the third time in the last four games and fifth time overall in 2013-14 with 10 points while also grabbing five rebounds in a 69-61 win over Mount St. Mary’s (2/15/14) at the Charles L. Sewall Center. His dunk late in the game helped Robert Morris build a nine-point cushion, and overall on the 2013-14 campaign Hawkins is supplying the Colonials with averages of 4.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per contest. Over the last two years, RMU is 16-4 (.800) with Hawkins as part of the starting lineup.
