Racking up his third Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2013-14 campaign is senior guard Karvel Anderson of the basketball team. In helping stretch RMU’s winning streak to six with a pair of victories last week by averaging 28.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in home wins over LIU Brooklyn (2/20/14) and St. Francis Brooklyn (2/22/14), Anderson was the main offensive force that allowed the Colonials earn their second straight Northeast Conference regular-season championship and fifth in the last seven years.  In a 73-64 win over the Blackbirds in which Robert Morris erased a 16-point deficit in the second half, Anderson scored all of 26 points after halftime to propel the Colonials. Two days later he eclipsed the 30-point plateau for the third time in 2013-14 with a game-high 31 points as RMU came back from a 12-point deficit to post a 71-70 overtime win over the Terriers. For his effort in the wins over LIU Brooklyn and St. Francis Brooklyn, Anderson was selected as the Choice Hotels NEC Player of the Week for the second time this season and third time on his career.
