Tabbed the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Jan. 25, 2023, is fifth-year forward Kahliel Spear, who earns his fourth honor of the year. In a split in Wisconsin last weekend that concluded a four-game road trip, Spear led the Colonials with averages of 19.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 51.9 percent (14-for-27) from the field and 90.9 percent (10-for-11) at the free-throw line. In a 74-38 triumph @ Green Bay (1/21/23) that concluded the swing, Spear, a native of The Colony, Texas, paced RMU with 19 points and six rebounds. Thanks to his first board of the contest against the Phoenix, Spear became the 19th member of the RMU 500-Rebound Club. In 21 games during the 2022-23 season, Spear produces averages of 14.9 points and 7.9 rebounds for the Colonials.
