Junior defense Mikaela Lowater of the hockey team garners the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week accolade for Dec. 2, 2015. In a two-game sweep of Maine this past weekend at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island, Lowater recorded a goal and two assists while posting a +3. In a 5-1 victory to open the two-game set Nov. 25, Lowater posted a pair of helpers to go along with a +2. The next afternoon, in a 3-0 victory, the native of Thornhill, Ontario, scored a power-play goal in the win and finished with a +1. Thanks to the performance against the Black Bears, Lowater extended her point streak to six games and was selected as the College Hockey America (CHA) Player of the Week (11/30/15). She ranks third nationally in power-play goals with five and overall on the 2015-16 campaign has compiled seven goals and nine assists for 16 points.
