Earning his second consecutive Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week nod is junior forward Chase Gilley of the soccer team, who shares the honor with sophomore teammate Friedrich Petrelli. In a 5-0 victory in the first Horizon League road game of the 2022 campaign @ Milwaukee (9/17), Gilley registered his first hat trick in an RMU uniform. He turned the trick in the first half, scoring each of his three goals in the first 25 minutes of play. Gilley, a native of Denver, N.C., recorded his first goal at 4:30 on a header, buried one in the net at 9:31 to give the Colonials a 3-0 advantage and added his final marker at 23:23 on a long pass that created a one-on-one opportunity. For his efforts against the Panthers, Gilley was tabbed the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week (9/19) for the second consecutive week. In five games, each as a member of the starting lineup, Gilley owns a team-high eight points courtesy of three goals and a pair of assists.
