Junior outside hitter Annie Monaco of the volleyball squad has been named the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for August 31, 2022. She shares the honor with junior forward Haleigh Finale of the soccer team. At the JMU Invitational last weekend to open the 2022 campaign, Monaco paced the Colonials with 25 kills and seven service aces while also producing 20 digs and a .151 attack percentage. Her best match of the invite came in a 3-1 triumph over UAlbany (8/27) in which she finished just a dig shy of a double-double with 12 kills and nine digs. Also against the Great Danes, Monaco, a native of Dover, Ohio, notched three blocks and a pair of service aces. For her efforts, Monaco earned a spot on the 2022 JMU Invitational All-Tournament Team.
