Tabbed the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 1, 2023, is fifth-year forward Kahliel Spear, who shares the honor with teammate Jackson Last. In a pair of wins last week at the UPMC Events Center that stretched the winning streak for the Colonials to three, Spear averaged 27.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 70 percent (21-for-30) from the floor, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, while going a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line. For his efforts, Spear, a native of The Colony, Texas, was named the Horizon League Player of the Week, the first weekly honor for RMU in its three years as members of the league. Spear owns overall averages of 16.0 points and 7.8 rebounds for the Colonials so far during the 2022-23 campaign and leads the Colonials in blocks with 27.
