Earning his second Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade of the 2014 campaign and 10th of his career is senior Chris Carper of men’s track & field. One of two student-athletes to garner the Most Outstanding Senior Male award at the 2014 RMU All-Sports Banquet Sunday, Carper claimed the individual title in the javelin at the Bennie Benson Memorial Invitational (4/12/14) last weekend at the RMU Island Sports Center. Carper posted a toss of 71.09 meters (233’3”), which was over 16 meters better than second place and also established both meet and facility records in the event. Thanks to his performance at the Bennie Benson Memorial Invite, Carper was selected as the Northeast Conference Field Athlete of the Week (4/15/14) for the second time this season. Carper’s 10 RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolades throughout the last four years is the most by a Robert Morris student-athlete since RMUColonials.com launched in 2007.
