RMU Athletic Hall of Fame
1993 Men's Soccer
Robert Morris posted an overall record of 14-7-1 (.659) in 1993 and tied for third in the Northeast Conference with a 5-3 (.625) ledger. Included among the victories for the Colonials in 1993 was a 1-0 win at No. 25 Miami (Ohio) as well as a 1-0 conquest at Wake Forest in which Chris Hultquist (RMU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2009) scored at the 82:56 mark to lift RMU to the win. In the NEC Tournament, Robert Morris opened with a 3-2 victory over Monmouth, then earned a 2-0 win over LIU Brooklyn to claim the tournament title and became the first team at Robert Morris other than men's basketball to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. That squad was led by Troy Fabiano (RMU Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2001), who finished with 19 goals and five assists for 43 points, which ranks second in the Robert Morris single-season record book. In addition to Fabiano and Hultquist, other former student-athletes from that squad enshrined in the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame include Marco Patitucci (2010), Doug Petras (2000) and Musa Shannon (2002) as well as head coach John Kowalski (2000). The 1993 men's soccer squad joins the 1982-83 men's basketball team and the 1994 softball squad to be inducted into the RMU Athletic Hall of Fame.
