A native of Elizabethtown, Pa., Snyder served as the bow for the Colonials as the varsity heavyweight four claimed the Margaret McNiff Trophy at the 2000 Dad Vail Championships in Philadelphia, Pa. RMU finished with a time of 7:25.48, which helped the Colonials outlast Bucknell (7:28.63), Bowdoin (7:33.40), Pittsburgh (7:42.12), Florida (7:42.12) and Carnegie Mellon (7:47.92).
